The Wanties: Spring Spruce

I have this amazing friend called Mim. And Mim has asked me to share more of the things I love here on the blog to save her searching for inspiration. I’m nothing if not accommodating.

So Mim, The Wanties is all about pleasing you.

I think Spring always turns my thoughts to cleaning and renewing the home. The sun this afternoon was a welcome reminder that it’s not long until the Earth awakens and the light returns.

1. I love decor which represents the family and these wooden wall birds are just too cute.

2. An unfortunate structural problem we’re having has an up-side in the shape of a new front door and finally replastering the huge crack in our hallway. Having previously ignored the state of our hall I’m excited to make it an inviting space. I’m a little obsessed by Shanna Murray’s decals, they are so beautiful and I can’t wait to make a space for some. Stocked in the UK at Bodie and Fou.

3. I’m powerless to resist retro cool and have been hankering after one of these barber boards for a few months now. Wouldn’t you love to put the weekly menu up on one? I know my buddy Emma would like one too and I have two words to say to that: Mother’s Day.

4. New seasons call for new favourite accessories and I have been lingering in the virtual shop of French 76. I am very much in the one-of-everything camp here!

5. What is it about ceramics that is so darn exciting? Please reassure me that I’m not the only one whose heart beats a little faster when they see a delicious china design… Anyhow, if you’re with me then Ninainvorm’s screen printed ceramics are worth a drool. I loathe to use the word upcycle as it has been so poorly used in recent times but let’s say she enhances classic designs with her own prints.

6. Spring is the right time to buy new teatowels. That is just the way these things are and so I invite you along to Mister Rob’s latest offering. Yes, he may be all over the place these days but he is still super cool. I love this statement, it sums up much of my youth.

And there you have it, a little collection of things which make me go weak at the knees with the wanties.

My hubby brought home those birds from a business trip to London. They are even more precious in real life. There’s some lovely little details in the paint. And the can be hung up or stand on their own Highly recommended!

I was eyeing up those decals in the Bodie and Fou catalogue the other day, they are so lovely! Those birds are gorgeous too – perhaps I’ll hint to husband that we most definitely need to do valentine’s presents and I’d like these thank you please!

Oh so pretty! Must shut eyes and walk away from the computer – or go and bury my credit card in the garden.
