I was recently contacted by the team at Argos who asked if I’d be interested in working with some of their products to style my home. A quick browse of their site turned up a wealth of inspiration for my bright and cosy style so I accepted and began creating my pin mood boards.
I concentrated on two spaces: my dining table and my favourite spot on the sofa.
With the rain set to return and the children back in school January can seem pretty bleak. Finding small pockets of time to treat yourself well has to be a priority. With a stack of new year reading and my very own Kindle to boot (I know) I’m spending my me-time curled up in another world.
Taking inspiration from the gorgeous collection of cushions I decided to create a comfy place for reading by the fire. Beginning with the sumptuous velvet cushions I added a couple of printed cotton cushions to break up the block colours.
Our house is so dark in Winter so a reading light is essential. I chose this sculptural origami light which looks fantastic on and off. Alongside it is a digital radio tuned to Radio 4 or 6 depending on my mood.
I adore the nesting coffee tables – we have such a small home and furniture that can be tucked away when not in use is in high demand. I love the combination of metal and wood.
Many of the products I chose were by Habitat which can be found in its own shop at Argos. I’ve been a fan of Habitat for many years and we have their furniture and homewares throughout the house.
Yes, January can be grim in so many ways so I vote for indulgence via a comfortable corner and a good book or two.
