Little Blue Chair

Eames Inspired Chair Giveaway on Housewife Confidential

We have been on the hunt for new dining chairs for a while as the legs were literally falling off ours. I had settled on the idea of having a mix of styles after finding a Windsor Wheelback chair in a charity shop.

As I started to scour eBay and the local second hand furniture shops I was contacted by Metro Furniture. I have long admired the beautiful lines of Eames furniture and with so many reproductions around they are definitely a big favourite in interiors at the moment.

I chose one in powder blue after a lot of deliberation – 11 colours, which would you choose? While I love my wooden chairs when it comes to sitting for longer than a meal my back can’t cope with them. The moulded seat of an Eames DSW chair is so much more comfortable to sit in. I am tempted to take it up to my desk!

If you’re on email or in RSS click through to the site or select the giveaway tab on Facebook to enter. You can enter up to seven times in a variety of ways. It ends at midnight on 17th April.

This is a gorgeous chair. I love the colour – good choice! I’m also a fan of Ercol chairs. I have a rocking chair which is super-comfy (although admittedly not practical for putting round a dining table). x

I am a chair philistine. I love this one though. The Series 7 dining chairs on the website are lovely too.

I really want a sofaette, really just a comfy chair that’s half again as big as a normal armchair, but looks perfect for curling up in with a book. Pity they’re half again the price too though! Thanks for the give away!

That looks amazing. I think I would have it at my desk as I fear that otherwise I’d never get to sit on it as I’m always the last to sit down!

    • Reply Jane April 11, 2014 at 4:43 pm

I forgot to add that my favourite chair is my 1930’s ercol armchair. Sadly DH hates it so it lives in the teenager’s bedroom.

  • Reply pixeldiva April 11, 2014 at 6:27 pm

If money were no object, I’d totally have an Eames La Chaise.

But in the meantime, if they were still for sale, I’d love a Conran for M&S Marlowe chair. So comfy. Wish I’d bought one when I first saw them, sod not having anywhere to put it.

I really like Lloyd loom chairs but somethings been holding me back getting one. They never feel that comfy to me. I swooned when I saw this post. I think I may have found a new favourite.

  • Reply Annette April 12, 2014 at 12:06 am

I love this chair and anything with a vaguely mid century feel. Ercol’s Windsor chairs at the White Company are lovely.

  • Reply Jenni April 12, 2014 at 7:46 am

I love anything eames. I’ve bid on so many on ebay but I’m never willing to pay the price they go for! I’d adore one of these.

  • Reply Kristy April 12, 2014 at 2:45 pm

I am going for the mis-matched kitchen chair look too. Have had my eye on one of these for a while!

I love the powder blue too. We have a snuggle seat (that’s what John Lewis called it), it’s like Anna’s sofaette in that it’s a bigger than normal armchair. I lived in it when pregnant and early newborn days, so easy to fall asleep in.

My ultimate pieces of Eames would have to be an Eames lounge chair. A girl can dream.

We’ve just got rid of our TV in order to make space for an Ercol armchair, but I think one of these might fill the gap just as beautifully.

Thanks so much for a great giveaway. Am off now to explore the rest of your blog – new reader, and really glad to have found it!
