Last Days of Summer

Summer Gone

September is such a contradiction for me; the excitement of getting back to work coupled with sadness at the end of summer.

Do you feel the same?

We have had such a lovely summer this year. Endless days filled with elaborate games and worlds, invented and inhabited by the children. There were our summer stalwarts of Just So and Giffords and even a holiday. There was plenty of time spent in the struggle of being at the computer not really getting work done and not being with the children. And there was decorating. A lesson learned: school holidays and decorating don’t mix.

But autumn holds so many wonderful things. Betsy started school and she loves it. I finally have time to put back all of the things we moved out for the decorating (I’m kidding myself here, right?). Blogtacular 2016 is on sale and we’re holding a fun event in October – honestly, I am never more happy than when I’m with the Blogtacular crowd. There are some really exciting and challenging projects emerging that I can’t wait to get my teeth into. Not to mention autumn food – my absolute favourite!

And there’s my dichotomy, sadness at what is passing and excitement for what is to come. How about you?

I’m very much the same. It’s been a lovely summer and my littlest (and last) has started school. Just like you I am loving getting to work on some new projects. I wish I had your photo editing skills and it wouldn’t have just taken me ages to figure out how to remove some text from my logo using software I already had. Oh, well, the children are learning at school and I’m learning at home.

yes, I feel the same too. I love September and the sparkling early Autumn light. Autumn is (together with Spring) my fav season, but still…I often feel kind of lost in September, family-work rhythm has been interrupted for 6 happy weeks, I’m still in ‘having fun Summer holiday mode’. Oh, and the shock of realising my kids are now in year 3 and 4 (what! They were newborn babies last year, weren’t they!???), and are now walking to school together. Must admit I’m happy to have my brain and energy to myself again, at least until 3:30.
Can’t believe that delicious little Betsy bundle I met here in Bristol is already going to school, glad to hear she loves it, mine do too.
