Bets and the City

Betsy and I are back from a wizzy weekend staying in trendy Hoxton (I am told this should be my homeland). We were up in London to attend CyberMummy and were sponsored by Mamas & Papas who made it possible for us to travel there and stay close by.

Not only did Mamas & Papas sort out our travel and accommodation but they sent Betsy a mean set of wheels to ride around in. I am rather smitten with the Urbo and will deliver a full report on Bambino Goodies once it has been put through its paces for a few weeks. As you can see above, Betsy was very comfortable snoozing in there when she wasn’t making smize at our friends.

And there were friends indeed. From hanging out in my hotel room with a sleeping baby to bringing gifts for my children; my online friends humbled me and made me realise just how much they add to my life. There were so many people I missed or barely managed a minute with that I was kicking myself back at the hotel. If I’m completely honest, the conference got in the way a tad! What I suggest is that we forget about events and just get together to share food and chat, the sooner the better.

I managed a little walk along the Columbia Road pushing the Urbo and pulling my suitcase. I was there early enough to pull this off as I’m told by Bob & Blossom that pushchairs are impossible once it gets into full swing. I indulged myself and slipped into Ryantown, which for those of you who know me well has long been a dream shopping destination. And while I could have come away with one of everything given unlimited funds, I bought a key which is now hanging near where I write. I hope every day.

I’m so glad I (just) got to meet you – you were just as I imagined you. Beautiful post and lovely photos, as ever.

Thanks for seeking me out, I’m not so good with talking to people :) Hopefully see you again at the MADs if not before!

I’ve lived in London all my life and have not made it to Columbia Road flower market and yet I am talks with family about going into floristry…rubbish! I desperately wanted to come and say hi – you were top of my lists of meets and greets. I saw you at breakfast (I was at the Huggies breakfast dressed in a white mexican embroidered blouse), but just couldn’t get away. And then again during Natalie’s talk! And several over spots in the day. Kicking myself now! And thanks for the heads up on that shop. I am so there this weekend

That is so funny! You would love it but definitely go early as would be hell in crowds.

I wish you had said hi, I’d have loved to meet you. I was a bit bad at talking to new people. I also feel terrible for telling someone they couldn’t have a picture with me until I’d fed Betsy then forgetting to go over – hopeless! I was totally giving the Huggies guys evils – didn’t realise you were over there! We will have to figure out another time. K x

Super to meet you on Saturday! I must say it’s quite brave of you to go to Columbia Road on a Sunday, it’s pretty mobbed whenever I’ve been but fabulous atmosphere.

I was out by five past nine and it was just manageable but can imagine it would be horrible when busy.

Gorgeous photos! I’ve always wanted to go to Columbia Road but never quite managed it despite being married to a Londoner. Nice wheels, too- lucky baby Betsy. Pramahollic eye candy :) Laura x

It was complete chance that I managed to get myself up and out early enough to fit it in, very glad I did. I always think of myself as a non-pram lover but my head is turned by this little beauty.
