With the mercury dropping by the second and a chilly winter ahead of us I am ready to embrace the warm and snuggly clothing of Autumn.
Recently Rachel and I headed up to Kew Gardens to revel in the Autumnal explosion of colour and shoot some of our autumn looks. Yes, I changed multiple times during the day in public and felt no shame!
Where my clothes are from is one of my number one questions from you guys so I thought I would gather my current favourites into one post for you.
Despite having the morning from hell getting up to London (traffic jams, a puncture – you can see it all unfold in the vlog) the rain stopped, the clouds parted and we had the most glorious bright, sunny day.
You know I’m a huge fan of Boden’s clothes – lots of colour and fun while being cut in a super flattering way. They go up to a size 22 in most styles (please add more guys!) and they have been my go-to for the last five years.
This season they have a beautiful 60s inspired theme going on. While the 60s may have been unforgiving to the full figure they have mixed the iconic cuts and prints alongside styles which work on a figure like mine.
Boden kindly sent me a box of goodies to wear this autumn. I like to add a few key pieces to my wardrobe each season rather than buying a whole new look I choose things which will last for a few years. This wrap dress is a great trans-seasonal item as it’s lighter fabric. The print totally reminds me of Formica patterns which I *love*!
Despite being plant obsessed Rachel has never been to Kew. It was so fun hearing her get over excited at being surrounded by so many leafy lovelies (you can see it in her vlog here). Rachel’s looks was very classic 60s with a simple black shift over a striped polo neck, teamed with pops of yellow in her accessories and that gorgeous pink coat – I really loved it and it was fun to shoot. I won’t share all of the images I took of Rachel as she will be sharing over on her site.
It is a long time since I have committed to a coat. I just haven’t found anything which truly floats my boat but this bright yellow duffle ticks all the boxes. It’s colourful, has great pockets and makes me feel like a teenager again (in a good way). Worn with the Ottoman A-Line in this dreamy dusky pink it’s my go-to outfit this season. That dress is perfection itself – a slightly cropped sleeve and a high, wide neckline give it a hint of Twiggy but it still feels like a good look for me.
For a couple of years now Boden have been doing warm, textured dresses for Winter and this season they have bought out one of their best yet.
The curve and flare dress is so good! It’s warm without being too hot and the shaping in the seams makes me feel joyous every time I wear it. And if you’ve been following me over the last few weeks you’ll know I have it in two colourways because I love it that much.
What are you wearing this season?
