Just Say Yes

Today I had a blissfully chilled out meal with some online friends. No big fuss; a simple and delicious meal with a lot of chatting.

I feel so happy to be at a point in my life where I’m feeling comfortable enough in my own skin to say yes to the opportunity.

There are so many times when I have said no; held prisoner by my own fear.

Fear of not belonging, of being rejected, of repeating patterns. Yet what keeps us in those patterns is our fear. Reticence holds us back from connection and ultimately poisons our chance of happiness.

No more. Half a life is a high price to pay. It takes some courage to change your outlook but saying yes is a good place to start.

Yes: let’s meet, hang out, do lunch. Let’s reach out and make friends.

It was the loveliest of lunches. I am very glad that you did say yes (and very excited to hear about all the marvellous things that you have planned…) x

Me too – I nearly didn’t make time for it, but then finally thought sod it, will go, these are people I know I will like and you know I did! Life is too damn short for fear. I am always telling my students and children to go for it. taking my own advice. Looking forward to a rematch!

What a gorgeous place for lunch – that part of the invitation at least must have been easy to say yes to!

I so agree with you. I am learning to grip fear with two hands and do things that scare me. I am loving my sewing class.
