A Year From Now…
A year ago today I wrote about some of my worst fears being realised. Around that time I wrote this quote up on our blackboard:
“A year from now you’ll wish you’d started today.” Karen Lamb
We knew the leap was coming but making it was truly terrifying. Little by little the courage came and a year later here we are. The small steps we took last Summer became skips and leaps and good things happened.
Looking at those words gave me the courage I needed to start Capturing Childhood. How glad I am to have taken that leap alongside my good friend Kat. Our courses bring creative joy into my life and inspire me to push myself to be the very best I can be. I am so excited to see them grow over the next year.
This weekend I took the next step. I updated my about page, tidied the site design and added a page about the work I do. Creating that page took some bravery I wasn’t expecting. Sometimes owning what we do and our achievements goes against our nature. I’m proud of my skills and knowledge and opening myself up to new possibilities may feel nerve wracking but I’m glad I found the courage to take the next step.
It brings me back to that quote; take whatever stops you from starting today, look it in the face and then move past it. If this is your path you will start and today is the day to take that first step.

You’re so right – definitely one of the hardest things to do. Well done x PS a couple of those links were coming out crossed rather than underlined, thought you’d want to know ;)
Thanks Lottie – a rogue plugin!

Talented people are usually very bad at realising how difficult it is to do what they’re good at. To them, it’s natural and straightforward. To everyone else, it’s a mysterious gift.
That’s you, that is. Your talent is quite mercurial and hard to define, but that neither diminishes it nor stops EVERYONE else recognising it.
Good on ya, Kat. Keep on keeping on, you bossy bag of lovely. x
Thank you Ruth. I had to Google mercurial and am none the wiser :)
wow – you are such an inspiration! Can I have a small piece of your energy and drive please? Well done Kat.. you are a marvel. And so lovely to see you face… hello! *waves* xxx
