A Corner

There is a reason I rarely show you pictures of our house and that reason is my terrible house keeping. This is one of the few surfaces which isn’t constantly beset by clutter and is therefore one of my favourite corners. I loved Amanda’s corners of our home series so I thought you might like to see my little corner.

This is the corner of our sitting room next to the opening into the kitchen. It is a little gathering of things which make me smile.

Although I have completely cut it out of the picture it’s based around a bureau which came from my grandmother’s house via my mother’s. It is packed full of stationary, pens, cards, wrapping paper, posting packages and just about everything associated. It is so full that it often takes several attempts to close the door.

Do you have a favourite corner?

I have a little side project in readiness on the blog which I shall tell you more about on Friday. If you simply can’t wait there is a sneak preview on my Facebook page.

Love the wallpaper – my mum has that print in fabric version and she’s planning to use it to make some curtains!

It is gorgeous although I hadn’t anticipated quite how popular it would become!

Lovely! I’ve been told a little bit of space to yourself, free of the clutter of others is very good for you mentally. This is wonderful to see :)

The only reason it’s uncluttered is because it’s not the most convenient place to put things. Otherwise it would be covered in piles of paper!

I need to clear the clutter a little bit. There is nothing wrong with little corners, I think I must do this too

I look at photos from when Milla was a baby and see beyond her to the kitchen side which is clear and wonder how!

I love the candle wall sconce, and the little hearts hanging from it are so cute.

I know the feeling about bad housekeeping – the hoover and I have had a bust-up, but it’s pretty clear we need to make up again soon…

    Hi Kat,

I’m new to your blog but enjoying it very much and am looking forward to trying some of the baby led weaning recipes! Looking through your blog I saw a lovely cartoon style picture in a picture of the corner of your house and I was wondering if you could tell me where you got it from? Many thanks

      Hi Sarah,

Thanks for stopping by! Is it the picture in the photo on this post? If so it is a beardy man by AshleyG she releses limited edition runs of them every now and again.

      Kat x
